Shard Contest

Sea Glass festivals are held in the United States with the major one held by the North American Sea Glass Association. This festival is held once a year, alternating between the west and east coast areas. 5000 plus people attend their two-day events. Islanders who have attended these festivals have told us about the Shard Contest held during these events and have said they are attended with great enthusiasm and excitement. So in keeping with that, we will also hold a contest…so bring your best piece of Sea Glass…your best shard!

The Shard Contest is a special event for sea glass collectors from all walks of life. It is a chance for everyone to bring ‘their best piece’ of sea glass. We all have a best piece. It might be a rare color, or a piece of glass that is in fantastic condition, or it might even be a piece of sea glass that is quite unusual. Maybe still, it’s our favorite piece, or our first piece.

So start sorting your sea glass…we are certainly sorting ours!  Our 2010 Shard Contest will include a category for Pottery Shards.

Everyone is eligable to enter the Shard Contest.

Judging criteria will be made available during the contest.

Limit of 3 entries per person. Cost $2 per shard, or $5 for 3.
